Jack’s open and fluid teaching style is suitable for all those who are looking to develop a flexible and exploratory relationship to music. He teaches any age and any level.
He believes that it is important to meet student’s where they are, rather than forcing them into a specific learning method. Each student has different goals and existing capabilities when it comes to music and Jack likes to use this to help students foster their own learning styles when it comes to the piano.
Jack uses repertoire as a framework to explore musical concepts, like harmony, rhythm, melody, sight-reading, ear training and technique.
Students tastes and goals play a significant role in how Jack plans his lessons. He thinks there is no better way to develop a good relationship to music than to play music you like!
